Florida Citrus Mutual, the state’s largest citrus grower association, is hosting its third Annual Julia Black Florida Citrus Speech Scholarship Contest to encourage students to learn more about the state’s agriculture industry, specifically Florida citrus.  This contest is in honor of a long-time Board member’s daughter, who was very active in the arts, and whose family is a 4th generation citrus grower.

The Contest will be broken into two parts: District and State. There are seven District competitions throughout the state, which are scheduled to be held in January 2026. District winners will come together to compete at the State Competition March 2026. The winner of the State competition will present their winning speech at the Florida Citrus Industry Annual Conference June 11, 2026, in Bonita Springs, FL.
