We’re excited to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Washington, D.C. Youth Tour, sponsored by Glades Electric Cooperative. This incredible program offers high school juniors the opportunity to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. from June 15-20, 2026—a life-changing experience filled with leadership development, tours of historic landmarks, and meetings with legislative staff. Winners will have an outstanding leadership experience to help build their résumé for college applications.
Important updates for this year:
Eligibility has expanded! All high school juniors living in Glades, Hendry, Highlands, and Okeechobee counties are eligible to apply—not just those served by Glades Electric Cooperative.
We’ve also replaced the traditional essay with a video submission to allow students’ personalities and communication skills to shine.
Video submissions should be 1.5–3 minutes long and address questions about the student's interest in the trip, civic engagement, leadership experience, and understanding of the cooperative model.
The deadline to apply is January 5, 2026.
