WWII hero Major Thomas B. "Tommy" McGuire, Jr.

We are excited to announce that Young Americans for Freedom, led by President Kayleigh Bush, and Hometown Hero Committee Woman Elsa Khan, have partnered to honor WWII hero Major Thomas B. "Tommy" McGuire, Jr. by naming the Sebring High Media Center in his memory.

McGuire was a 1938 graduate of Sebring High School, where he played in the band and was a member of the football team. In 1941, he joined the U.S. Air Forces, becoming

one of the top-scoring airmen in history while flying the legendary P-38. He remains the highest-ranking American ace killed in action, and his bravery continues to inspire.

This initiative will go before the Highlands County School Board during their meeting on January 7th, the 80th anniversary of McGuire's sacrifice.
