District Parent Family Engagement Plan
The District’s Parent Family Engagement Plan for the 2017-2018 school year was approved by the DSAC in the spring and has been placed on the District’s webpage. Due to the length of the Parent Family Engagement Plan, the District has placed the Plan on the Parents/Students page. Please visit the Parent Family Engagement Plan at https://sites.google.com/highlands.k12.fl.us/sbhc/parentsstudents. You may also review a copy of the Plan at your child’s school. If you would like to request a copy of the District’s Parent Family Engagement Plan, please call Debbie Wood at 471-5547.
Affordable Internet for Students and Families
Comcast offers a program called Internet Essentials. If you live in areas of the country served by Comcast and you qualify, you can now get Internet Essentials for just $9.95 per month instead of the $40–60 (after teaser promotions) the company charges for its lowest cost basic plan. Qualifying families will even be able to purchase a computer for only $149.99. There are no activation fees and no additional equipment fees, and your internet now comes with a wireless router.
Access from AT&T
AT&T is making it easier for students and parents to connect with friends, family, and the things that matter most. If at least one person in a household is a SNAP participant, the household may qualify for 10M bps home Internet service at a discounted $10 rate. We encourage you to share this information with students and parents.
